Who is responsible for your information?
Michael Neale, trading as Neale Plumbing & Heating, is responsible for the customer information described here. The business is based in Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests, email Email Michael or call 07955 528533.
Enquiries and job information
When you contact Michael, the information you provide may include your name, telephone number, email address, property address or postcode, details of the work and photographs. Please send only information relevant to the job and avoid including other people or sensitive documents in your photographs.
Contact and job details are used to answer your enquiry, assess the work, arrange visits, prepare quotes, carry out agreed services and provide aftercare. Information needed to take steps at your request before a contract, or to perform an agreed contract, is processed on that basis. Without the relevant contact and job details, it may not be possible to arrange the work.
Business records may also be needed to meet legal obligations, including accounting requirements. Handling complaints, protecting business records and resolving disputes are legitimate business interests; only relevant information should be retained for those purposes.
How the website enquiry form works
The public contact form prepares a WhatsApp message in your browser. Pressing “Continue to WhatsApp” transfers the draft to WhatsApp. Michael receives the enquiry when you send it there. The form does not submit your details to a website database or send an email automatically. Your browser or device may retain its own autofill or history information.
You can contact Michael by telephone or email instead. WhatsApp handles information under its own privacy policy, including how it processes information internationally.
Booking records and access
Job and appointment records may be kept in the business’s password-protected jobs and diary system. These can include customer contact details, addresses, descriptions of work, dates, notes, parts and invoice information. Access is limited by account role: administrator, office booking or shared diary. The system is for authorised business users, not a public customer booking portal.
Who may receive information?
Relevant information may be used by authorised people helping to arrange or carry out your work, and by providers of website hosting, email, messaging and accounting services. Information may also be provided to professional advisers, insurers or authorities where needed for a claim or legal obligation. Third-party services have their own privacy information and may operate outside the UK; contact Michael if you need details of the providers used for your job.
Google reviews and external links
Google reviews are displayed through Reviews Widget. Loading this feature connects your browser to that provider, which may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details. The feature displays reviews that were published publicly, including reviewer names and any profile photographs. See the provider’s privacy policy.
The MyJobQuote badge is an image stored with this website. It does not load a MyJobQuote widget. Selecting its link opens MyJobQuote. Google, MyJobQuote and other external websites control their own services and information handling.
Cookies, browser storage and technical logs
The public marketing pages do not include our own advertising or analytics tools. Reviews Widget states that its embeddable review widget does not set tracking cookies on visitors’ devices; see its cookie policy. Hosting services may record requests, IP addresses, dates, browser details and errors for delivery, security and troubleshooting.
The staff jobs system uses a secure session cookie for sign-in and browser storage for interface preferences, such as the colour theme. Its session cookie is limited to the jobs-system path. Signing out ends the session. Customer records are held on the server rather than cached by the app in browser local storage. Deleting browser cookies signs you out; deleting local storage removes stored interface preferences.
Private website editor
The private website editor uses its own secure session cookie to let the owner edit and publish website content. Draft text, uploaded project photos and the last ten published versions are stored on the hosting server. Uploaded photos are resized and re-encoded before use. Login attempts are rate-limited using records with a hashed network address, removing attempts older than 15 minutes when another sign-in attempt is made; hosting logs may separately record the original address. The editor’s cookie is limited to its own path and signing out ends the session.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose: an enquiry remains relevant while it is being discussed; job records may be needed for the work, aftercare, warranty questions or disputes; financial records must be retained for applicable accounting and tax requirements. Information should be deleted or anonymised when those purposes no longer require it. Ask Michael about the retention of a particular record.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email Michael using the contact details above and explain your request. Identity checks may be needed before information is disclosed.
You can raise a concern with Michael or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This website does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on customers.
Updates
This notice will need to reflect changes to the website, booking tools or the way information is handled. The date above identifies this version.
